Welcome to My Math Blog

I got Clifford A. Pickover's "The Math Book" for Christmas and I'm slowly going through it. Sometimes the descriptions are too short and I end up reading quite a bit more on a topic on Wikipedia and elsewhere.

As I come across interesting tidbits, I thought I'd add a post here so I don't have to remember them later. I'm also going to see how far I can get through the history of math and understand everything. I think I now understand Leibnitz's series for pi so I'm at least up to about 1500 A.D.
